I was looking for a way to not only improve my own self-defense skills but also to find a course that my son could participate in. This was the perfect fit. The instructors were incredibly knowledgeable and patient, creating a safe and encouraging environment for all skill levels. I was able to grow my own knowledge and skill set, but the best part was watching my son develop his skills and confidence. It was an amazing bonding experience and a truly valuable training. For one thing, you're getting firearms training from working Eugene police officers, who themselves learn and teach at one of the most highly regarded law enforcement firearms programs in the country. But the owners, Shawn and Rachel, and their other instructors are just plain good folks, too -- patient, kind, meticulous and friendly. They treat you like family -- no question is too basic or too advanced. I knew from the start that I was getting exceptional training in even the smallest detail. I wouldn't want to train with anyone else.”

“I received the Pistol 201 course as a Christmas gift from my husband, knowing I wanted to obtain my concealed carry license—and it exceeded all expectations. The course offered a well‑rounded mix of classroom instruction and live‑fire range time, making every moment both educational and engaging.
The classroom sessions covered far more than just the basics: we tackled the legal aspects, holster options, gun safety, grip, drawing techniques, and situational decision‑making. The instructors were extremely knowledgeable, patient, and approachable—creating a welcoming learning space where I felt comfortable asking any question. Before the class I had no idea how to choose a holster. Thankfully, I got to look at, hold and discuss various holster types onsite, which gave me the confidence to select one that truly meets my needs.
The range portion was equally excellent: shooting on a private range with hands‑on instruction was both informative and fun. I practiced drills under professional guidance, gained real experience and saw immediate improvement.
Altogether, this course not only prepared me for the license—but made me a more confident, responsible, and informed firearm owner. I would recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone—beginner or experienced—considering firearm training.”

“I just attended and graduated from NW Precision Training's Pistol Craft 201 class. While I have been shooting handguns for decades, it was great to both refresh and learn new skills in the areas of safe handling, operation of various pistols and revolvers and, of course, great tips on increasing the accuracy of my shot placement. In addition, solid information was shared regarding the legalities of utilizing lethal force that all responsible gun owners need to know! Shawn, Scott, Rachel, Dan, and all the other trainers did a great job of conveying this information both in the classroom and at the range in a supportive, professional manner that encouraged participation in discussion. It is clear that the NW Precision Training’s Team is passionate about teaching gun owners safe handling, providing skills that will enable them to become more accurate shooters and provide guidance in their decision to possibly secure a concealed carry permit and the incredible responsibility that comes with using deadly force against another citizen. “This is exceptional training!!! Shawn & Rachel and staff really put themselves out to make this firearms training the BEST. I have attended 2 times and brought my family members back to experience it themselves. I have a combat arms military background and a lifetime of owning and operating firearms of all types. I was extremely impressed with how well the training was conducted and the quality of the content. It was also notable how the staff effortlessly adapted their teaching to make everyone comfortable no matter what their knowledge and experience with firearms was.
Even with my many years of experience using firearms I learned knew skills and am not ashamed to admit that these instructors skill levels are far above mine and they are happy and excited to pass any and all of those skills on to us as fast as we can absorb them. I had a great time being a part of this training that definitely improved my skills with a handgun. I also just enjoyed seeing others with less time around handguns absorb this training and immediately perform at amazing levels. I just can’t say enough about good this training is and I’m definitely going to take the advanced classes and the rifle classes. It was so much fun!”
