*NW Precision Training does not offer, rent, or sell firearms or ammunition. NW Precision Training does not allow Blackhawk Serpa holsters.
Duration: 4 Hours
Format: Live-Fire / Range Course
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Pistol Craft 202: Practical Handgun
Most critical incidents happen in low or no-light conditions. This course is not about shooting in the dark — it is about thinking, identifying, and performing when visibility is limited and consequences are high. Pistol Craft 203 introduces students to the principles and techniques required to operate a pistol safely and effectively in reduced and no-light environments, where target identification and decision-making carry greater weight than ever.
Students arriving from Pistol Craft 202 already know how to deploy their weapon system under standard conditions. This course introduces light — both the management of it and the discipline it demands. Students will work with handheld and weapon-mounted light techniques, learn to balance illumination and concealment, and apply their skills under the specific uncertainty of a diminished environment. Performance is measured through discipline, decision-making, and accountability.
Student Outcomes:
Apply the principles of light management — when to illuminate, when to go dark, and why
Employ handheld light techniques effectively while maintaining weapon control
Employ weapon-mounted light techniques with proper activation and discipline
Identify and engage targets accurately under reduced and no-light conditions
Move and communicate with teammates in a low-light environment
Balance illumination and concealment — understanding that light reveals both threat and position
Demonstrate safe, controlled weapon handling under the stress and uncertainty of diminished visibility
Equipment Needs:
Open mind, teachable spirit, positive attitude, and a mindset of safety
Handgun (semi-automatic)
Weapon-mounted light or quality handheld flashlight — contact NW Precision Training with questions about your setup
200 rounds of factory ammunition
Holster covering trigger guard and with retention
Sturdy belt to support holster use
Long pants and closed-toed shoes
NW Precision Training provides hearing and eye protection
Personal hearing protection must be amplified
